Royal Visit for Mustang Technologies

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the Grand Opening Ceremony of Software Park, National Science and Technology Development Agency, Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, at the Software Park Building, 99/31 Chaeng Wattana Road, Nonthaburi, on April1, 2002. The Honorable Darryl N. Johnson, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, also attended.

Following the Grand Opening Ceremony in the Software Park auditorium, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn toured the facilities of Mustang Technologies Co., Ltd., which was one of only two companies selected for this Royal visit.

Mustang Technologies Co., Ltd. is a privately owned, Thailand Board of Investment company that focuses on providing high quality software development and outsourced software and e-commerce services for global companies.

November 28-30, 2002, Mustang Technologies CEO, Charles J. Kathrein, attended ASOCIO 2002, Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization’s 20th General Assembly and Symposium in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Approximately 500 ASOCIO Members and IT professionals gathered to attend a groundbreaking meeting between the public and private sectors. Under the theme of: “eGovernment: Enhancing Public-Private Sectors Partnership,” the event consisted of a vast array of conference and activity programs. The event’s Keynote Address was given by H. E. Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand.


November 11, 2002, Thailand’s new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Minister, Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, and ICT Ministry officials, toured Mustang Technologies’ facilities in Software Park Thailand.

July 31-August 2, 2002, Mustang Technologies CEO, Charles J. Kathrein, attended ProMAC 2002, International Conference on Project Management, in Singapore. ProMAC 2002 was jointly organized by the College of Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and the Society of Project Management (SPM), Japan, and marked the first time that a major and broadly based international conference on project management was held in Asia as a joint effort between two Asian countries. In addition, this joint initiative signifies the increasing maturity and acceptance of project management as a major professional management discipline in Asia.


July 18, 2002, Mustang CEO, Charles J. Kathrein, selected as an honored member of International WHO’S WHO of Professionals. The WHO’S WHO Historical Society has been documenting biographies for history since 1928.


May 1-2, 2002, Mustang Technologies received SW-CMM (Capability Maturity Model for Software) Level 2 Baseline Assessment. The Baseline Assessment was conducted by a Software Engineering Institute Certified Lead Assessor from the Philippines. The Lead Assessor has significant SW-CMM experience, both as a practitioner and as a Lead Assessor, having worked with multinational companies in the Asia Pacific region rated at SW-CMM Level 4.


April 15, 2002, Nine Mustang Technologies Software Engineers selected to participate in the APEC Human Capacity Building (HCB) Promotion Program. Five of the Software Engineers were selected for the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) Online Training Course and Certification Program; the other four Software Engineers were selected for the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Online Training Course and Certification Program. The APEC HCB Promotion Program was launched at the APEC Leaders Informal Meeting in Shanghai in October 2001 as a concrete deliverable of the meeting. The APEC HCB is a tripartite cooperation program which provides online training for 1,500 senior IT professionals, a virtual classroom to support e-Learning in the Asia-Pacific region and a cyber forum to encourage the involvement of all stakeholders.
